Jewelry Trends of 2022

Gone are the days of thin chains and dainty accessories! Through classics, we usher in a new year of statement pieces, bold colors, and a tendency to pay homage to the past. Runways this past month have been showcasing an assortment of accessories, elevating outfits, and bringing life to the overall outfit. With a nostalgic feel, we can see the reemergence of chunky jewelry continuing into this year. Perfect for layers and stacking, chunky rings and necklaces are forecasted to be the element in your outfit that pulls the entire look together.

This year’s motto is “the more the merrier!” Take the time to pair your resin and enamel rings with bold earrings or a statement necklace, all items becoming trendy as we start to move into the new year. Beads and charms, first staples of our childhoods, can now be seen on trendsetters as we embrace the more vibrant aspects of the Y2K trend and add a pop of color to our everyday staples. In the accompaniment of these 90s trends making a comeback, we see the continuation of “regencycore,” an aesthetic based on the styles and silhouettes of the Regency era of the United Kingdom, in this upcoming year with “pearlcore,” the embracement of all things relating to the iridescent gems. This time with an emphasis on accessories, this trend can be achieved this year by adding a splash of elegance with pearls and beading both in the traditional sense but also in new and exciting ways with a variety of shapes and sizes. Pearls as well as broaches, aren’t just what grandmas wear on the weekends now, but are ways people can add an extra, more unconventional element to their outfits. And of course, you can never forget about hoops.

A timeless accessory, hoop earrings have always been in fashion. This year, however, new iterations are becoming mainstream.
